UPPER AMERICAN RIVER PROJECT

HYDROELECTRIC DEVELOPMENT OPTIONS IN EL DORADO COUNTY

Hydro Development on the Western Slope of El Dorado County is being studied to provide power generation on the natural rivers of El Dorado County. Being able to capture Hydro power is an existing source of revenue by way of the natural water flows.

IOWA HILL

The proposed Iowa Hill Pumped-Storage Development project is a project that SMUD would like to include in their relicense.  Since the project is near the communities of Camino, Swansboro/Mosquito, Pollock Pines, and the city of Placerville, the Iowa Hill Joint Advisory Committee formed to allow the residents of the affected communities to get together with SMUD personnel and County officials to discuss and work out details of how the project can or will affect the community.

FAZIO

EDCWA on behalf of the El Dorado Irrigation District and Georgetown Divide Public Utility District are trying to obtain water transfers from the Central Valley Project. Contracts are negotiated under Public Law 101-514.
