The El Dorado County Fire Safe Council has received grant funding to start a residential chipping program on the west slope of El Dorado County. The goal of this program is to encourage residents to clear around their homes, creating defensible space, and to provide an additional resource for disposal of the green material.

The chipping service is completely free of charge. The homeowner's only obligation is to follow the instructions on the Fire Safe Council of El Dorado County Chipper Program website: http://www.edcfiresafe.org/chipper_program.htm
