Finding Help in a Crisis:
Are you, a friend or a loved one in a crisis where help is needed immediately? To determine if this is a crisis, answer these questions honestly:
Have I, my friend, or a loved one...
- Been thinking about, talking about, actively planning or attempting suicide?
- Been unable to manage basic self care, such as eating, bathing or dressing?
- Been in, or currently in, a dangerous abusive situation? If children are involved, are they in danger?
- Exhibited bizarre behavior, heard voices, seen things that aren't there or expressed uncontrollable anger?
- Abused alcohol or drugs to a degree that causes imminent danger?

Mental Health Commission Meetings:
The El Dorado County Mental Health Commission has two councils - One that meets in South Lake Tahoe and one that meets on the Western Slope of the County.
Meeting Schedule
Generally held on the Fourth Wednesday of each month at 5:00 p.m. in Placerville (670 Placerville Drive) and teleconferenced to the South Lake Tahoe Mental Health office at 1360 Johnson Blvd., Suite 103.
Due to the holidays, the December meeting will be a Joint Council meeting Dec.14th at 5:00 p.m.
The Commission members also periodically hold special meetings.

Adult Services
El Dorado County Mental Health offers outpatient services for adults (people over the age of 18) with serious mental health conditions who meet certain income and/or eligibility requirements. Services include screening and assessment, medication evaluation and treatment, recovery groups, lifeskills training, vocational counseling and support referrals, and peer counseling.
Children’s Services El Dorado County Mental Health provides interventions and support for children who have severe emotional disorders. Services include mental health assessments, treatment and support services, (including treatment at the County Juvenile halls), and consultation to schools, law enforcement agencies, community service partners and family support groups.
Psychiatric Health Facility
The Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF) is a licensed residential treatment facility that provides inpatient services for persons requiring intensive, 24-hour psychiatric care.
