GENERAL ASSISTANCE
The County General Assistance Program is a repayable program designed to assist indigent adults to meet their basic needs by providing vouchers for housing, utilities, personal needs and transportation. There are four components to the program: non-resident individuals needing transportation to return to their place of residence; individuals who are disabled and need support until their Social Security benefits are awarded; individuals who are unemployed; and burials for the indigent.
