What We Do for You

The El Dorado County Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) provides its services free of charge to all parents, whether or not they receive welfare. You will be required to complete an application for services and cooperate with our office. 

DCSS provides the following services:

• Open a child support case.
• Locate the parent.
• Establish paternity.
• Establish, modify and enforce a court order to pay child support.
• Collecting and distributing child and spousal support payments.
• Establishing and enforcing medical support; including dental and vision care and family support orders.

DCSS does not provide:

• The handling of custody or visitation issues.
• The handling of divorces.
• The handling of community property issues.
• Obtaining or enforcing restraining orders.
• Establishing spousal support orders.
• California Child Support Departments
