Rescue Groups 

If you can't find the pet you want at our shelters, there are many other places to look.

1. First check other shelters in the community.  
   
2. Check with breed rescue groups in the area. These groups often take purebred dogs and cats from shelters and from owners who are trying to find new homes for their pet. Generally, these groups specialize in a certain breed of dog or cat.

3. Check the Internet: www.petfinder.org, www.pets911.org or www.adoptapet.com.
